Belize Snorkeling

Snorkeling in Belize

We have partnered with the tour company Searious Adventures for all of our snorkeling trips. We offer trips to Mexico Rocks, Hol Chan Marine Reserve, and West Indian Manatee watching.

1/2 Day Snorkeling Hol Chan

Hol Chan Marine Reserve is located about 30 minutes south by boat. Maximum 30 feet deep, excellent visibility. Here the water lover can see various Caribbean fish like snapper and grouper, parrotfish, and surgeonfish. Rays are also often seen here together with the moray eels. Hol Chan was translated from the Mayan, which means 'little blue channel.' Also seen on site are eels, spider crabs, lobster, and nurse sharks. All flora and fauna within the reserve are protected, and feeding fish is discouraged.

Manatee Watch, Swallow Caye, and The Aquarium Snorkeling

Visit the secluded Swallow Caye, a natural habitat for the West Indian Manatee. Once we arrive, you are encouraged to take pictures of the shy manatees.

From Swallow Caye, we set off for the small island of Goffs Caye for Willie’s famous BBQ lunch and snorkeling off-shore.

After lunch, we head to “The Aquarium,” known for shallow depths and amazing visibility. The sub-aquatic gardens are inhabited by colorful sponges, branching anemones, Staghorn and Elkhorn coral formations. Residents of the Aquarium include the spotted eagle ray, several species of snapper, grouper, and angelfish.
